Eat your way to ecstasy during the Shakespeare in Love Feast. Viewers will enjoy a four-course meal, complete with wine pairings, while Joseph Fiennes plays William Shakespeare to Gwyneth Paltrow's Viola De Lesseps. He's a playwright working on a comedy called Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter, and she's a talented woman with secret ambitions to be an actress in a time when women are forbidden to step on stage. The comedy Romeo and Ethel becomes the tragedy Romeo and Juliet through a series of events, which includes a clandestine affair between William and Viola. (In real life, Paltrow was involved with co-star Ben Affleck, who appeared in Romeo as famed stage actor Ned Alleyn, although the affair was hardly clandestine.) The film, directed by John Madden, won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actress for Paltrow and Best Supporting Actress for Dame Judi Dench, who plays Queen Elizabeth I. 7:30 p.m. Alamo Drafthouse - Mason, 531 South Mason.
