Sheryl Underwood

While Beyoncé croons about single ladies who want a ring on their fingers, blunt-spoken comic Sheryl Underwood flatly says that like many women, she’s not interested in long-term relationships. “Hey men, not every woman is going to be in love with you. We just want to fuck,” she says in one YouTube clip. “We don’t want to know your name, or know about your problems. In fact, don’t pull your pants too far down, because you’re not staying that long.”

Her riffs on race, politics and celebrities are only a slightly lighter shade of blue. “You can’t say anything [bad] about Oprah on this show,” she once told Joy Behar on The View. “Because she’ll have the lights turned off here.”

Underwood is in town for a two-night stint at the Improv, a frequent stop for the self-described “sexually progressive, God-fearing Republican.” 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday, 6:30, 9 and 11 p.m. Saturday. 7620 Katy Freeway. For information, call 713‑333-8800 or visit www.improvhouston.com. $25.
