It's hard to resist the charmingly irreverent comedy of Monty Python, the hilarious British geniuses behind Spamalot. Written by Python's Eric Idle and John Du Prez, the 2005 Tony Award-winning musical tells a naughty and laugh-out-loud version of the Arthurian Legend of the Holy Grail. The knights who go on the journey discover they must put on a show to find the grail, and so begins a very funny production about the silliness of the entire genre of the Broadway musical; it takes direct and hysterical shots at Andrew Lloyd Webber-type tunes. "A Song That Goes Like This" is filled with lines like "You can overact like Hell" and "It's way too long." Meanwhile, the knights are traveling away on their "horses" with high-kicking feet and obvious coconut sound effects. They meet dead people and the Lady of the Lake (a grumpy diva, according to the creators), fight an evil, knight-eating rabbit and eventually find love and a reason to go on. 3 and 8 p.m. Grand 1894 Opera House, 2020 Post Office, Galveston.
