Any Talking Heads fan that hasnt seen Stop Making Sense should plan to stay up late today (or tomorrow). The concert movie directed by Jonathan Demme is considered one of the finest examples of the genre this side of heaven. Filmed at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles in 1983, the new wave idols are seen burning down the house with a set of their greatest hits. The film opens with front man David Byrne taking the stage with a guitar and boombox for an acoustic, solo rendition of Psycho Killer. With each successive song, another band member along with his instruments and equipment is pulled up on stage. Dont let any more days go by without seeing this rockin reel. And if youve already seen it, dont miss the chance to see it on the big screen trust us, its much cooler than watching it on your television, man. (Just for fun, every sentence in this article contains a lyric or title from a Talking Heads song. See if you can identify them all. You dont win a prize or anything we said it was just for fun.) 11:55 p.m. today and tomorrow. River Oaks Theatre, 2009 West Gray.
