Summer Sounds Concert Series
''Summer Sounds [Concert Series] presents relaxed, family-friendly outdoor concerts where you can hear great music from Houston's diverse musical community in an incredibly beautiful setting,'' says Emilee Dawn Whitehurst, executive director of Rothko Chapel. ''There is nothing quite like seeing live music on a summer evening in front of Barnett Newman's majestic sculpture, Broken Obelisk.'' This installation in the series features the music of El Rectorado del Son, a Cuban music ensemble that performs classic Cuban ballads on traditional instruments. Picnics welcome.
