Tag, He's It

A few years ago, pretty much every club you'd hit was full of dudes rocking an urban uniform of Timberlands and anything by *ecko unltd. The brand of sports and hipsterwear — marked by the rhinoceros in the rifle scope — was created by designer-urban dweller Marc Ecko, who set out to create a line of clothes that bridged big-time fashion with legit NYC street life. But that was the '90s. Now Ecko is pushing his love for all things urban with a dope new video game, Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure.

Today, you can meet Ecko when he stops by town to autograph copies of Getting Up and show you how to master video-game tagging. The graffiti game centers on Trane — a tagging antihero voiced by hip-hop rhymer Talib Kweli — who's initially just looking to get up until he becomes the leader of a revolutionary movement. Players can master various graffiti skills, starting as a toy (beginner) artist as they tag landscapes while battling rival crews, a corrupt mayor and a police state, all in an effort to reach the sweet spots of New Radius, where a well-placed tag brings respect and reputation. The game features a hot soundtrack and a hot cast, with names like Diddy, Rosario Dawson, Charlie Murphy, Brittany Murphy, George Hamilton, Giovanni Ribisi, Adam West and Andy Dick lending their voices.
