Texas Arab American Festival
How many festivals can claim to be sponsored by CNN and the CIA? Well, according to their Web site, the Texas Arab American Festival can. But while those sponsorships may have a little something to do with the current political climate, the festival itself is all about fun, not politics. Activities include live music, dancing troupes, comedians and childrens entertainers, all with a Middle Eastern flavor. Noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Arab Community Center, 10555 Stancliff Road. For information, call 877-373-1125 or visit www.arabamericanfestival.com. Free.
