There are two kinds of people in the world: the kind who want to see an apocalyptic movie starring Michael Biehn, and the kind who don't. (It's our understanding that the kind who don't number in the dozens.) If you happen to be in the majority, you're in luck this weekend. You can catch the Houston premiere of The Divide with Biehn, Milo Ventimiglia and Rosanna Arquette as part of a group trapped in the aftermath of nuclear holocaust. Desperate to maintain their safety in a bomb shelter built by their paranoid landlord, the small group of survivors begins by fending off mysterious invaders in hazmat suits.
But that only works so long, and the constant terror wears on them. They eventually cross the line between civilized human beings and brute savages, becoming more of a threat to themselves than anything outside of their safe haven might be. 11:55 p.m. Friday and Saturday. River Oaks Theatre, 2009 West Gray. For information, call 713-866-8881 or visit www.landmarktheatres.com. $9.50.
