The Future of Houstons Former Suburbs: A View from Sharpstown Infrastructure, Education, and Quality of Life
Whats Houston going to look like in 50 years? In a hundred? By then we might be a mega-metropolis stretching beyond Highway 6 to the outskirts of San Antonio. Cant happen? Byrd will tell us whats next for a neighborhood once thought far beyond the reach of Houstons sprawl. A Yates High School graduate (along with Rice and Duke universities), Byrd specializes in Afro-American culture. 7 p.m. Humanities Building, Rice University, 6100 Main.
