The Gougers are equal parts Texas twang and indie rock. The four-piece group has three shows today, so youll have no excuse for missing them play oldcrow / scarecrow and other favorites from their soon-to-be-released A Long Day for the Weathervane.
This afternoon, you can grab a free Saint Arnold and listen to the bands singing/songwriting duo Jamie Wilson and Shane Walker at Cactus Music. Later in the evening, the group has two shows at McGonigels Mucky Duck. Since meeting in College Station, the pair added the musical talent of Cody Foote, who plays electric guitar and bass, and John Ross Silva on drums and percussion, so this is a slightly different lineup than fans have seen before. The in-store performance is at 4 p.m. 2110 Portsmouth. For information, call 713-526-9272 or visit www.myspace.com/cactusmv. Free. The evening performances are at 7 and 9:30 p.m. McGonigels Mucky Duck, 2425 Norfolk. For information, call 713-528-5999 or visit www.mcgonigels.com. $15.
