The Illumination Project
Houstons brightest performers come together today to mark World AIDS Day with The Illumination Project. AIDS is not going away, says Project chairman Matt Harris, who hopes to draw attention to the health crisis via the arts. Local artists Kelly Myernick of the Houston Ballet and Ruddy Cravens of Stages Repertory Theatre will perform, as will the Two Star Symphony, Ana Treviño-Godfrey and the Houston Boy Choir. Two New York companies, The Bang Group and House of Ninja, are also on the schedule. The varied program includes classical arias, ballet and, uh, voguing. 8 p.m. Hobby Center, Zilkha Hall, 800 Bagby. For tickets and information, call 713-315-2525 or visit www.illumination.org. $35 to $50.
Sat., Dec. 1, 8 p.m., 2007
