The Importance of Being Earnest
Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest closes out the Classical Theatre Company’s 2013-2014 season. The comedy of manners follows two friends, Jack and Algernon, who create alter egos for themselves in an attempt to escape society’s rigid rules. The trouble starts when the two women they love fall in love with the personas rather than the actual men. CTC founding Executive Artistic Director John Johnston appears as Jack, his first time on stage for the company, while Alley Theatre Company member Emily Neves makes her CTC debut. CTC member Thomas Prior makes his directing debut.
