The Jizz Age

The adult entertainment industry has officially entered the American mainstream. The proof is everywhere. Val Kilmer is on the big screen playing porn icon John Holmes in Wonderland. Jenna Jameson, the Julia Roberts of the skin trade, was recently the subject of an E! True Hollywood Story. Coming soon to the Fox network is Skin, a nighttime soap featuring porn-industry workers. Ads for the Adult Video Megaplexxx chain can be heard on KLOL. And this Saturday, video vixens Kira Kener (Wayward Nurses, Where the Boys Aren't) and Tawney Roberts (The Ozporns, New Wave Hookers, Up and Cummers) will be the special guests at Vivid Video's Porn Star Ball at Barcode.

Earlier this year, the popular hard-core porn distribution company hooked up with nightlife party crew Nikita Productions to sponsor shindigs all over this titty-obsessed country and beyond. Since then, Vivid has dispatched many of its contract actresses to clubs in cities such as L.A., Detroit, Chicago, Denver and even Calgary. "This is the opportunity to bring the girls and the name to people who don't regularly get to see it," says Vivid licensing vice president David Schlesinger.

Word is Kener and Roberts will simply sign autographs, take photos, pass out hats, T-shirts and head shots and take in the ball's debauched festivities. "I can tell you it's gonna be a fun party," assures Schlesinger. "As for whether it'll be conservative or rambunctious, that's gonna be dictated by the audience." Patrons will have the chance to enter a lingerie contest that could win them $1,000 or a bunch of singles, whichever comes first.

The Porn Star Ball is a chance for red-blooded American men and women -- okay, mostly red-blooded American men -- to come together and tell Kener how much they enjoyed her work in Pie in the Face.
