The Lost Tribe

The Baytown Little Theater may have to change its name soon; the word “little” doesn’t quite describe what it’s up to these days. According to theater president Kim Martin, a $4 million theater in downtown Baytown is in the planning stages. And the company is staging a world premiere of New York playwright Jeff Stolzer’s The Lost Tribe. Winner of the Texas Nonprofit Theatres 2010 POPS playwriting contest, the story is about Holocaust survivors, an older couple living in Los Angeles who run a barber shop. When they realize a business associate might have been a Nazi sympathizer during the war, memories of that terrible time come flooding back. Martin, also the show’s director, says, “This is a play about the horrific things happening in life and where we find grace and forgiveness.” 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Through June 5. 4328 Hugh Echols, Baytown. For information, call 281-424-7617 or visit www.baytown.littletheater.org. $15.
Fridays-Sundays. Starts: May 20. Continues through June 5, 2011
