The Peking Acrobats
“It’s a tour de force combination of a wonderful Chinese culture all rolled into one wonderful evening” Cynthia Dike-Hughes, co-producer with IAI Presentations, says about the Peking Acrobats. “We have a lot of surprises for the audiences this year. I think that Houston will really be impressed with the show.” Several musicians are featured during the show performing on traditional instruments such as the erhu, the yangqin and the pipa. “We are incorporating, a small core of drummers from our JIGU Thunder Drums of China show. The performers are performing, the musicians are playing their very exotic instruments, and the JIGU are also drumming, and so there’s a lot happening onstage.”
