The Rat Pack Is Back
It was 1960, and the original Ocean's 11 was filming in Las Vegas. For three legendary weeks, some of the film's illustrious cast — that is, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Joey Bishop, collectively known as the Rat Pack — spent their evenings performing onstage together in the Copa Room at the Sands Hotel in what they called ''The Summit.'' Now the Society for the Performing Arts presents The Rat Pack Is Back, a re-creation of that short, magical time. The Dick Fenney-produced show features Brian Duprey as Sinatra, Drew Anthony as Martin, Kenny Jones as Davis and Mickey Joseph as Bishop. All accomplished singers, Duprey and company croon their way through ''That's Amore,'' ''Mr. Bojangles'' and the iconic ''My Way'' backed by a 12-piece orchestra. They also sing a few holiday tunes and re-enact some of the quartet's original comedy and nightclub bits.
