Dorothy and all her pals from the land of Oz make their way to the Ensemble Theatre for the new production of The Wiz. Charlie Smalls and William F. Browns 1975 Tony Award-winning musical based on L. Frank Baums novel gives us a spunky girl who learns theres no place like home. Eileen J. Morris, artistic director of the Ensemble, says the show has music that uplifts the human spirit and teaches you to seek to find out who you are. Best of all, The Wiz is just full of plain outright good music, with songs such as No Bad News, Funky Monkeys and Believe in Yourself. Ease on down the road to The Wiz at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 3 p.m. Sundays. Extended through July 26.
