'Twas the Night Before Christmas
Sing-alongs, while generally anathema to the general adult public, are one of the greatest things ever to happen to little kids. And, yes, there will be sing-alongs during todays musical retelling of Clement Clarke Moores poem Twas the Night before Christmas. The program features the Houston Symphony, accompanied by the chorus from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Conductor Michael Krajewski will lead the ensemble (and the crowd) from the stockings being hung by the chimney with care, to the miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer to the part no one can ever remember about the down of a thistle.
Pre- and post-show activities in the lobby should exhaust the Christmas spirit for the day - but dont blame us if you hear endless choruses of On Comet! and On Cupid! during the ride home. 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Jones Hall, 615 Louisiana. For information, call 713-224-7575 or visit www.houston-symphony.org. $15 to $20.
Sat., Dec. 8, 10 & 11:30 a.m., 2007
