Singer Cheryl Pepsii Riley leads the cast of the musical stage play
Tyler Perry’s Hell Hath No Fury Like a Woman Scorned. In his signature style, Perry uses music, drama and comedy to give us a story about resilience and faith.
At the center of Hell Hath is Anita Lincoln (played by Riley, who has appeared in several Perry projects). With a great job and wonderful friends and family, the only thing missing from Anita’s seemingly perfect life is a loving man. Enter Randy, a charming and sophisticated, well-to-do gentleman. After a whirlwind romance, the two get married — and Randy reveals his true nature. Charming? Hardly. Sophisticated? That would be another no. He’s actually just a fast-talking con man who thinks Anita is the ultimate mark. Foolishly, Randy underestimates Anita’s strength and determination.
8 p.m. Friday, 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday, 3 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, 800 Bagby. For information, call 713-315-2525 or visit thehobbycenter.org. $46.50 to $52.50.
