“Uncorked and Uncovered: Felipe Lopez”
Most artists study techniques and styles; Felipe Lopez studies neurology. The Houston-based artist is showing new work examining the brain at the exhibit “Uncorked and Uncovered: Felipe Lopez.” The works, in several mediums, feature repeated screened images of a brain. “I don’t just paint. I also produce installations, video art pieces and sculptural pieces. I like to use them amongst each other, against each other,” says Lopez.
The artist will conduct two talks during the course of the exhibit, at 7 p.m. on May 22 and May 29. Regular viewing hours are 4 p.m. to midnight Sundays through Thursdays, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Through June 4. Cha Champagne & Wine, 810 Waugh.
