Via Colori

Each November for the past seven years, Via Colori has celebrated sidewalk chalk painting as an art form. This year's lineup of some 200 artists includes the returning Anat Ronen. The self-taught muralist is responsible for works that stretch more than 90 feet on the Galveston Causeway, in addition to dozens of other, smaller works. Bryan Higgins and Kenneth Pierson will also be on hand for their amazingly photo-realistic sidewalk painting skills. If you're looking for something a little more offbeat, then Scott Wade will be showing off his ability to take a car window and transform it into anything from a portrait of the Marx Brothers to illustrations from the books of Lewis Carroll. Or you could watch the Reverend Butter chainsaw ice into sculptures. All proceeds from Via Colori benefit The Center for Hearing and Speech.

10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Sat., Nov. 17, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun., Nov. 18, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., 2012
