Who Was That Masked Man?
One matinee performance is already sold out, and Theatre Suburbia recommends reservations for all the other shows thats how popular this long-standing Houston melodrama is around town. The whole thing is utter silliness. Who Was That Masked Man? features a damsel in distress, a mustachioed villain and, of course, a masked hero. All these stock characters come together in a play by Joe Middendorf about righting whats wrong in the world. This is easy family fun: The bad guy wears a black cape lined in red; the good guy is dressed in white. Best of all, the audience is encouraged to boo and hiss at the bad guy. And if thats not enough, they can throw popcorn at him when he gets really evil. 8:30 p.m. Fridays, 3 p.m. August 14. Through August 27. 4106 Way Out West Drive. For information, call 713-682-3525 or visit www.theatresuburbia.org. $12 to $14.
Saturdays, Sundays. Starts: Aug. 6. Continues through Aug. 27, 2011
