Yeah, We've Seen Her
Hard to believe that it's been ten years since the WNBA was announced and the Houston Comets were born. It was easy to shrug off a women's pro basketball league especially in a place such as Houston, where we had our Rockets, thank you very much. But then Cynthia Cooper and Sheryl Swoopes stepped on the court, and the Comets grabbed a WNBA title. Then another one. And another one. And, well, you get the idea. Now the team is a decade old and pushing for a fifth title behind Swoopes, who made headlines last year when she announced that she was a lesbian. This season's slogan "Have You Seen Her?" is a nod to the entire team's overall badass-ness. If you haven't yet caught a game, you're in for a high-energy event with a crowd that rivals the Texans Bull Pen. Today, the team takes on the Indiana Fever and ballin' forward Tamika Catchings.
