The Houston Symphony performs classics from the Great White Way

A lot of Broadway fanatics were left out in the cold literally last month when New Yorks stagehands went on strike. Add that to Times Squares brutal crowds and the cost of an expensive plane ticket, and you might start thinking: Wouldnt it just be easier if Broadway came to me? Well, your prayers have been answered: With Andrew Lloyd Webbers Broadway, the Houston Symphony will please even the most experienced fanatics of the Great White Way.
Conductor Michael Krajewski will lead the ensemble of musicians, plus vocalists Debbie Gravitte, Doug LaBrecque and Anne Runolfsson, through hits from Lloyd Webbers classics The Phantom of the Opera and Cats. And as if Sir Andrews repertoire werent enough to feast on, theyll also perform hits from A Chorus Line, Wicked, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago and The Lion King. 8 p.m. today and tomorrow, 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
