The Ginger Man Pub

The Ginger Man Pub

Boasting what the bar claims is "America's largest selection of import draughts," the Ginger Man surely has a brew to suit you amongst the 68 on draft and additional 140-150 bottled suds.
Under The Volcano

Under The Volcano

Don't miss the "steak night" special on Monday nights, when a 16-ounce USDA Choice ribeye with tossed salad and mashed potatoes is a bargain.
Dan Electro's Guitar Bar

Dan Electro's Guitar Bar

A smattering of old guitars and groovy fluorescent skating-rink stars decorate the walls, and Dan Electro's corner stage has played host to too many local and regional names to count (most often blues, folk, roots-rock and hard rock).

    Tapology Gastropub

2660 Marina Bay Drive League City, TX 77573

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tapology-Gastropub/1423360284587574 The recently opened Tapology Gastropub in League City was packed with craft beer enthusiasts when we visited on a recent Saturday night. A sommelier is on staff here, and many of the patrons we spoke with seemed very knowledgeable about beer as well. Tapology has 58 craft beers on tap as well as another 80 in bottles, and allows patrons to sample beers before deciding on a purchase. The food here is also good; the manager we spoke with described it as “ramped-up American bar and comfort food.” Current offerings include the Tequila Chimichurri Chicken “Brown Bag” Nachos and Bacon Infused Chicken & Waffles. Tapology plans on having an ever-evolving menu, and we heard talk of a Monte Cristo doughnut sandwich in the near future. Wednesday is steak night with live reggae and coastal music, and a monthly music showcase featuring everything from bluegrass to singer-songwriters is also planned. If you are not a big fan of beer don’t worry, a full bar is also available. Sundays feature a Bloody Mary Bar with tons of fixings. Read more about this Houston bar or club >>

  • Taps House Of Beer

    Taps House Of Beer

    5120 Washington Houston, TX 77007
    281-701-4248

http://www.tapshouseofbeer.com Taps House of Beers carries all manner of alcoholic spirits and will even make you a whiskey sour, but beer is the main thing here. The line of taps is gigantic, but not quite to the degree of, say, the Flying Saucer on Main. They have plenty of brands and special batches to sate the amber-hued thirst of anyone in your party, including the dude that won't drink anything you can pronounce. What Taps may lack in exotic brews, it more than makes up for in non-boozy distractions, with plasma television sets and various games of skill galore dotting the premises. Make sure to order one of their 100-ounce carafes of suds at least once. It's fun for parties, and gives you a sense of accomplishment if you finish it. That, and a wicked headache. The weekends get pretty hectic here, so bring your credit card and some patience. Read more about this Houston bar or club >>

  • Tasting Room -- Kingwood

    Tasting Room -- Kingwood

1660 W. Lake Houston Pkwy Houston, TX 77345
    281-361-0044

http://www.tastingroomwines.com This is not your typical bar food: French fries are coated with divinely pungent white truffle oil, and artisanal charcuterie and cheese plates aim to complement your choice of wine. Sunday brunches with a distinctly Southern twist are hugely popular events, as are the occasional crawfish boils thrown on the patio in the summer. And while this location doesn’t offer lunch, weekday happy hours and weekend wine tastings provide plenty of opportunities to get your drink on while munching on one of many artisanal pizzas. TC's Show Bar

    817 Fairview Houston, TX 77006
    713-526-2625

http://www.tcshowbar.com TC's Show Bar is intended for transvestites and their admirers, but all are welcome. Since summer 1999, the nearly hidden bar off Fairview has staged free drag shows at 11 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, plus 8 p.m. Wednesday "matinees." It's a bit dark inside, but the friendly waitstaff, abundant seating and well-lit pool/pinball area keep patrons comfortable. If drag's not your bag, TC's is also stocked with seven flatscreen TVs, a bartop gaming system and an overly diverse jukebox. Sunday is hot dog night. Read more about this Houston bar or club >>

http://www.friedokra.org/charity-bar.html After almost a year in the making, OKRA Charity Saloon made it's debut in earnest late last year. 100% of the bar’s proceeds go to a local and deserving charity, turning your sinful evenings with the fire water into something great for others. Charity Saloon is open until 2 a.m. seven days a week for all of your drinking and yes, there is a kitchen blasting out bar food. Read more about this Houston bar or club >>

  • The Davenport

    The Davenport

    2117 Richmond Houston, TX 77098

This Richmond Avenue lounge has been a fixture of the old Sandman building for years, with its cozy interior and mid-century furniture providing a warm and welcoming environment. As the glass-shaped door handle belies, this is a go-to spot for martinis, with a specialty menu boasting nearly 50 different variations on the beloved drink and a lengthy list of vodkas. But that’s not the only spirit in good supply here, as The Davenport has a hearty Scotch collection that stretches the length of the bar. This combination of fruity vodka concoctions and intriguing whiskeys provides a yin-and-yang balance to the dim room and its often rock-oriented soundtrack. On a slower night it’s a pleasant place to tuck away for a few rounds, but the small space crowds quickly. Read more about this Houston bar or club >>

    Time Out Sports Bar #2

307 El Dorado Blvd. Webster, TX 77598
    281-480-3444

http://www.timeoutsportsbars.com As you might gather from the name, this Webster sports bar is part of a chain that also includes two Houston locations as well as one in Pasadena. Located in a strip center, this second location opened in 1993 and has a steady clientele of friendly regulars that start to pile in during the late afternoon. When we walked in we were a bit surprised at the size of the place. The spacious bar includes many TVs for viewing your favorite sports, plus plenty of pool tables, a foosball game, darts, shuffleboard, Golden Tee Live and other video games, and Megatouch games on the bar. No live music at this location, although a jukebox allows you to download songs from the Internet. There is no kitchen, but patrons can bring in their own food or have some delivered; just ask your bartender for a menu from a nearby restaurant. Domestic beers are favored here, but Time Out does have a few craft beers on tap as well as a full bar. Smokers can sit in the large covered smoking area/patio that protects them from the rain.
