Now in its fifth year, the Houston AfriFEST, organized by the Nigerian-American Multicultural Council in partnership with Houston African communities, returns to celebrate Africa, showcasing the different and diverse cultures on the continent through arts and crafts, folklore, live music, food and drinks, and fashion shows. AfriFEST will draw thousands, offering more than 70 vendors and at least 15 partnering countries. There will also be a kids’ zone for the festival’s youngest attendees, where they can have fun and learn different traditional African games. It is only $5 to get in, and kids, students and seniors are free. [Organizer's description:] EXPERIENCE AFRICA! For the 5th year running, we present Houston’s only African Festival that celebrates the rich and diverse cultures that span the continent. The HOUSTON AFRIFEST is an annual festival that provides a unique opportunity to learn about African Countries and their beautiful cultural heritage. Join thousands from the greater Houston area to revel in the sights, sounds, flavors, languages, and peoples of this incredible continent. Enjoy ethnic foods from different countries, cultural music, drumming, tribal dance, folklore, arts and crafts from local and international merchants, games and so much more fun and entertainment for the family. @namchoustontx #houstonafrifest
