Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s contributions to the Civil Rights Movement are so monumental, just a single parade won’t do justice to his legacy. That’s why Houston has two. The 23rd Annual MLK Grande Parade starts off at San Jacinto and Elgin in Midtown, with the themes of “Celebrating Our Diversity” and “Committed to Excellence in Community Service.” Co-grand marshals are Tina Knowles-Lawson and Richard Lawson, and this parade honors attorneys Benjamin Crump and Ricky Anderson.
