All About Chocolate: An Intro to Artisan Indian-Pakistani Chocolates

Hear about the flavorful delights of exotic, gourmet chocolate when Fort Bend County Libraries presents a special program, “All About Chocolate: An Introduction to Artisan Indian-Pakistani Chocolates,” on Saturday, May 20, beginning at 12:00 noon, in the Large Meeting Room of the University Branch Library, 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus. Sarah Ali, owner and certified chocolatier of Chamak Artisan Chocolates and Confections, will talk about the unique flavors of Chamak chocolates, many of which are inspired by the famous cuisine of south Asia, the Mediterranean, and other exotic cultures. Learn about the health benefits of these organic, hand-crafted confections and the importance of knowing the ingredients inside of them. Ali received advanced training at the world-renowned Culinary Institute LeNôtre, where she learned classical pastry and chocolatiering techniques. She also graduated with honors from Ecole Chocolat. “I am proud to be one of the first chocolatiers to incorporate the rich and wonderful flavors of eastern cuisine into chocolate, confections, and pastries,” says Ali, who seeks to showcase gourmet confections inspired by her culture.
