Immerse yourself in the fantastical realm of Greek mythology and experience ancient stories of the feminine that continue to shape our modern ideas of women. The ancient Greeks believed that every tree and body of water had a protectress in the way of a nymph, Oceanid, or dryad. The goddess Artemis was renowned for her extreme punishments of anyone who dared to wound life in her sacred forests. This course explores how outer nature reflects our inner nature and the archetypal guardians that protect it from ruin. We will virtually travel to Greece to see the physical places connected to the stories, learn about comparable myths from around the globe, and sample Greek food and wine. Participants will be invited to explore the stories on a personal level through guided visualizations, creative writing exercises, and art projects. All materials will be provided.
