BWAforBLM. No, your cat didn't just walk all over the keyboard, at least not this time. BWAforBLM is a collective of black women, queer and gender nonconforming artists formed in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. It all started in New York City with contemporary artist Simone Leigh during her residency at the New Museum. For its Houston iteration, seven of Project Row's shotgun art houses will be transformed into a platform for public dialogue through joy and grief flags, ephemera, typographic installations and performances "including but not limited to gestures, sound installations and processions and rituals." The exhibit remains on view through June 4, but don't miss the energy during this Saturday's opener.
