The John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science is extending its latest exhibit BODY WORLDS RX: Prescriptions for Healthy Living by popular demand until Friday, April 28, 2017! The traveling exhibit features 75 human specimens that explore the intricacies of the human body. The human specimens on display have been preserved through Plastination- a technique that removes fluids from the body and replaces them with plastics that harden. Highlights of Body Worlds RX include comparisons and contrasts between healthy bodies and organs those stricken by disease- from organs to muscles to the nervous system.
Body Worlds RX opened on Saturday, January 14th, 2017 and has been extended through April 28, 2017 at The Health Museum- located at 1515 Hermann Drive, from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m. on Thursdays, and 12 p.m.- 5 p.m. on Sundays. The Body Worlds RX exhibition is included in the regular ticket price for admission: $8 for children 8-12 years old and seniors 65 and above; $10 for adults; and free for families on Thursdays.
