Lawndale Art Center presents four exhibitions opening May 5, 2017, 6 - 8PM. In the John M. O'Quinn Gallery, the 2017 Artist Studio Program exhibition showcases works by current Lawndale artists-in-residents, Melinda Laszczynski, Randi Long, and Sarah Welch, curated by Dean Daderko. Nick Barbee exhibits new work, Marfacello (JefferJudd), in the Cecily E. Horton Gallery. Barbee's work plays at inventiveness and ingenuity by proposing solutions to nonexistent problems. In the Grace R. Cavnar Gallery, Ricardo Rivera displays his work, The Memory of a Particular Image. Ricardo's photographs explore the malleability of memories and past experiences. Miguel Martinez showcases his work, The Room Nobody Lives In, in Project Space. Martinez's paintings explore a sense of "otherness" in personal and shared experiences.
