. For one, it’s the 80th annual shebang. (Impressive.) It also helps turn the page on the historic Brazos River flooding that devastated the Rosenberg community in May and June. (The fairgrounds turned into a temporary base camp for flood responders.) Pre-show events include rabbit judging, a 5K run and a parade. The gates open at 10 a.m. for goat judging, mutton busting, a dance set by Grupo Exito and a concert by Texas country rebel Stoney LaRue. Headliners for upcoming shows include Tanya Tucker, Glen Templeton, Shinyribs, William Michael Morgan and Bobby Pulido. Open 5 p.m. to midnight Fridays; 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturdays; noon to midnight Sundays; 5 to 11 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 5 p.m. to midnight Thursdays; noon to 8 p.m. October 2.
