The Rothko Chapel is beating the summer heat with the coolest jazz in town.
At 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, the nonprofit continues its annual Summer Sounds on the Plaza series with Jacqui Sutton with the Frontier Jazz Orchestra performing their trademark blend of jazz and bluegrass.
For the family-friendly concert, lead vocalist and bandleader Jacqui Sutton will appear with the quartet version of the Frontier Jazz Orchestra, which includes Paul Chester (banjo/guitar), Anthony Sapp (bass), Henry Darragh (keyboard), and Ilya Janos (percussion). They will be performing songs from their first two albums, Billie & Dolly and Notes from the Frontier.
Complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided by Saint Arnold’s Brewing Company. Steel City Pops will be on-site selling all-natural creamy and fruity popsicles.
Families are invited to bring a blanket and picnic and grab a spot on the lawn.
