What is the mind capable of? How do the Buddhist techniques of calm abiding meditation help us explore the mind and its potential? In this course, we will explore perspectives found in Theravada and Tibetan Buddhism to help us settle our minds and closely observe our sensory and mental experiences, as well as the mind itself. Readings, discussion, and meditation practices will introduce the techniques of open awareness, mindfulness of the body, loving-kindness and compassion, and more. No prior experience is necessary.
