The Foster Grandparents Program of Harris County connects underserved seniors with at-risk youth to serve as mentors and tutors on a weekly basis.
From looking at this past year, Foster Grandparents have volunteered 60,593 hours at 35 different sites throughout Harris County.
Foster Grandparents’ service has saved their communities $1,427,571 in service provision costs. The program harnesses senior volunteers’ compassion and experience to improve the lives of today’s youth at no cost to agencies they serve.
