In the speculative non-fiction thriller, The World Without Us, Alan Weisman paints a picture of the Gulf Coast after humanity. It's not pretty. The landscape we leave behind us will be aflame with toxic fires long after our lights have been snuffed. Fossilized in Houston is an environmental advocacy group working to bring awareness through art to the threat that human caused climate change poses to all life on earth. For this exhibition, they've invited artists to create interactive installations within and without a series of containers placed around Rice University campus. While there will be chances for the public to participate in painting a coral reef, it is not known at press time whether the public will also get a chance to bleach a coral reef on site.
