MOREROOM “The spaces in my paintings are my attempt to portray the human mind,“ says Danish artist Anders Moseholm whose exhibition MOREROOM opens at HBU Art Gallery in Houston on Oct. 27. Key to his dreamy, enigmatic interiors is a strong sense of space and, beyond that, a craving for room in a wider sense: “A place where the human mind can say authentically: Here I am”, he says, with a reference to J. Safran Foer’s latest novel. As a Scandinavian, he has come to experience a vast, intellectually liberated and generous nature of space in America, which in his paintings reflects back on interwoven spaces and times past, tracing a fading cultural heritage of beauty as well as Hitchcockian suspense and horror.
