National French Fry Day

“If you’re a self-respecting brewery that serves food, you better have damn good french fries,” says Lennie Ambrose, marketing and events director for Saint Arnold Brewing Company, “[And] we unabashedly say we have the best fries in Houston.” But come taste for yourself this Thursday as the brewery celebrates National French Fry Day. The $25 ticket price includes beer, unending servings of Saint Arnold’s Belgian-style frites and a gigantic buffet of house-made toppings, cheeses and flavored ketchups. You name it, they’ll have it: the garlic aioli they traditionally serve, chili, Santo queso, bacon, duck fat, pulled pork, rémoulade, gravy and cheese curds (to make your own poutine), plus new menu addition Fire Emoji (fries made with the brewery’s Fancy Lawnmower sriracha and blue cheese crumbles). “Or you can eat them plain,” says Ambrose. “That’s okay too.”

6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. 2000 Lyons. For information, call 713-686-9494 or visit saintarnold.com. $25.

[Organizer's Description:]

A couple of years ago, we proclaimed our Hand Cut Frites to be the Best French Fries in Houston. Today, we stand by that claim. Of course, we don’t want you to just take our word for it. We want to prove it to you, and National French Fry Day seems like the perfect time. On Thursday, July 13, you can celebrate the occasion with us here at the brewery with a full on french fry party. From 6:00 – 8:00 PM, we’ll be serving our Hand Cut Frites, and you’ll have access to a special french fry topping bar that will include chili, pulled pork, Santo queso, remoulade, habanero ketchup and more. You can make it Fancy with truffle oil and parmesan. Or make it Fire Emoji with our Fancy Lawnmower sriracha and blue cheese crumbles. For the purists, we’ll have all of the traditional condiments and toppings. The world is your french fry. And don’t forget about the beer. We wouldn’t recommend topping your fries with it, but it’s perfect for washing them down.
