The John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science presents Never Count Us Out: Women’s Health Empowerment Luncheon featuring Boston Marathon bombing survivor and keynote speaker Heather Abbott. Proceeds raised during the “Never Count Us Out” Empowerment Luncheon will benefit the various programs operated by The Health Museum – a member institution of the Texas Medical Center and Houston’s most interactive science learning center – to motivate and inspire the next generation of scientists, technologists, engineers, mathematicians, and medical practitioners.
After surviving the bombing and having her left leg amputated below the knee, Abbott is the embodiment of true grit, determination, and strength. Today, Abbott is an avid paddle boarder, runner, athlete, and national motivational speaker who seeks to inspire others to overcome challenges in their own lives. As a certified peer counselor for the American Amputee Coalition, Abbott empowers others to seek their life passions and find the courage to pursue them in spite of all obstacles.
Join The Health Museum for an inspiring keynote address by Heather Abbot on April 24, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. 1 p.m. at The Health Museum. Individual tickets are $250-$500, tables available for groups. For more information and registration please visit: https://www.thehealthmuseum.org/luncheon2017
