Working as a white ally against racism is hard but not impossible. One thing that doesn’t help is saying “I don’t see color.” The failure to see color only benefits white America. A world without color is a world without racial debt. Help the Center for the Healing of Racism develop better allies by participating in a dialogue about the book Tears We Cannot Stop: A Sermon to White America by Michael Eric Dyson. Dr. Dyson is a Professor of Sociology at Georgetown University, an ordained minister, author of 20 books, a writer for The New York Times, and an editor for both The New Republic and ESPN’s The Undefeated Ebony. Please join us on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from noon to 2:00 pm -or- Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The events will take place at 3412 Crawford Street (corner of Holman), Houston, TX 77004. The events are free and open to the public but registration is required. Contributions are appreciated. RSVP cfhr1@juno.com or 713-520-8226. Free parking is available in HCC Lot 9, across the street from our office.
