next to normal; it made its regional premiere with Stages Repertory Theatre five years ago and there's a reason it's been reprised by Standing Room Only Productions, The Music Box Theater, and again now by The Bayou Theatre Company. With book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, the American rock musical went on to win three Tony Awards in 2009 and a Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2010. Alric Davis (Passing Strange, Fences) handles direction and choreography for this season opener, with musical direction by Melanie Bivens.
