PARAPLEGIC ARTIST’S WORK ON DISPLAY AT HALLET OAK GALLERY MAY 13, 2017 THROUGH MAY 27TH OPENING RECEPTION WITH REFRESHMENTS: SAT MAY 13, 2017, 2 - 4 PM OPEN TO THE PUBLIC: NO ADMISSION FEE Aaron Riske, mix media artist, will have his art on display at the Hallet Oak Gallery’s Spotlight on the Arts throughout May. The open house wine and cheese reception is Saturday, May 13, 2017, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Aaron Riske is a paraplegic born with Spina Bifida. Yet, Aaron’s story is one of accepting what God has given and excelling. Like the famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, who incorporated her lifelong suffering from a trolley accident into her work, Aaron’s art reflects his life. His magnificent portrait of Jesus Christ depicts the suffering of being born as a paraplegic. Jesus is illustrated with a crooked spine and every operation Aaron endured in his life.Aaron’s work will be on display through May 27th. The public is invited to an opening reception Saturday, May 13th, 2 PM to 4 PM. Tours of the Gallery available. For details see the Calendar-of-Events at www.halletoakgallery.com or call 361-217-7030. Hallet Oak Gallery is located Downtown Hallettsville on the square 115 N. Main Street, Hallettsville, TX 77964.
