In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, Fort Bend County Libraries’ University Branch Library will present the program “Reduce Stress for a Better Life” on Monday, May 15, beginning at 7:00 pm, in Meeting Room 1 of the library, 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus.
Dr. Cleo Richard will talk about the different causes of stress and how it affects the body. She will explain the “fight-flight-freeze” response to stress and how it can protect or harm an individual. Learn how to identify stressors before they escalate and get tips on methods one can use to decrease the harmful effects of stress.
Dr. Richard is a registered nurse with a BSN, MSN, and PhD. She has taught undergraduate and graduate nursing students for many years.
The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Missouri City Branch Library at 281-238-2100 or the library system’s Public Information Office at 281-633-4734.
