The sculptures and imagery throughout Dallas-based artist Ryder Richards recent work reference common sights on the streets, orange construction stripes, tires, wind socks, utility buckets, traffic cones, parts of cars. More than this, however, Richards insists that his approach to art work is research-based. Come draw your own notions about the forces of power and social stratification that underlie these everyday landmarks of civil engineering. The exhibition opens Saturday, March 18, from 6pm to 9pm, and remains on view at BLUEorange Contemporary until April 14.
