Violinist William Shaub and pianist Robin Giesbrecht formed the Shaub-Giesbrecht Duo in 2013 as undergraduates at the Juilliard School, and made their New York debut at Columbia University. They have enjoyed frequent recital engagements throughout New York City, and now travel to compete and concertize throughout the United States. In anticipation of the Boulder International Chamber Music Competition, they are looking forward to performing in Houston for the first time, and welcome you to enjoy a weekend recital with masterpieces of the deep violin-piano repertoire. The duo will be taking the audience through the rich collaborative process, and exploring step by step how they prepare an intensely competitive repertoire for a major music competition. An exploration delving into why they chose these pieces, what they reveal in an artistic collaboration, and the specific attributes that make this music competitive will all be part and parcel of this performance.
