From its flavorful foods---hummus, falafel, pita, baba ghanoush, it's long literary tradition (most famously The Bible, but also the works of Mahmoud Darwish, Emile Habiby, and Houston's own celebrated poet and doctor Fady Joudah) to the plaintive twang of the oud, Palestinian culture has long been known and loved by so many names. In addition to the food, the music, and the literary offerings, this festival promises folkloric dancing (dabke), artisanl arts and crafts, traditional embroidery, art exhibitions, a presentation of a traditional wedding, and the chance to shop at a live bazaar, as well as the opportunity to learn more about this vibrant, celebrated culture. Y'allah!
