Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:

Describe the basics principles of ultrasound technology.
Discuss key terminology and relate it to ultrasound principles
Relate principles of ultrasound to the administration of peripheral nerve blocks
Discuss key elements regarding probe manipulation and needle guidance
Identify ultrasound imaging for upper extremity blocks
Recognize the different upper extremity anatomic regions utilizing ultrasonography
Demonstrate accurate placement of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks of the upper extremities.
Identify different anatomic regions of the upper extremity as viewed by ultrasound and translate that knowledge into the placement of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks of the upper extremities
Recognize the different lower extremity anatomic regions utilizing ultrasonography
Demonstrate accurate placement of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks of the lower extremities Identify different anatomic regions of the lower extremity as viewed by ultrasound and translate that knowledge into the placement of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks of the lower extremities
Describe and discuss the ultrasound anatomy for the administration of the following blocks:
Transversus Abdominis Plane
Rectus Sheath
Paravertebral
Lumbar Plexus
Identify different anatomic regions for key somatic blocks of the trunk viewed by ultrasound and translate that knowledge into the placement of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks.
Identify anatomical structures viewed by ultrasound and translate that knowledge into the utilization of ultrasound guidance to assist in the placement of neuraxial anesthesia.
Utilize the adjuncts, potential complications and management of the regional anesthesia and acute pain management. Apply these tips for success in Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia.
