As part of a year-long series of events and projects focusing on racial equality, Vox Culture is debuting the Know Your Neighbors initiative for 2017. The goal of Know Your Neighbors is to foster open discussion on racial diversity, acknowledging both progress and challenges that various people have encountered. Vox Culture will feature story telling events, advocacy and arts projects, and finish with a round table session with community leaders and stake-holders. Vox Culture is partners this year with ProjectCURATE, Iconoclast, and the City of Houston’s Housing & Community Development Department.
Vision of our Diverse Nation will be the formal debut event of Know Your Neighbors. With the usage of short films and video clips, the featured visual stories will highlight challenges that exist among racial groups. The goal of this event is to encourage creative thinking and dialogue. Participants will engage in small group discussions both to tell and listen to various stories concerning race after the media exhibit. In the process, Vox Culture hope to build bridges among neighbors and contribute to the larger conversation in our country about racial equality.
Seats are free but RSVP is required. Please select and print your ticket to reserve your spot at:
