Price and Time
This year, all the WorldFest films save three -- Someone Special, Self Portrait and Manhattan by Numbers -- will be seen in a pair of side-by-side auditoriums at General Cinema's Meyerland Plaza location. WorldFest begins Friday, April 21 and runs through Sunday, April 30; a day-by-day schedule of the films can be found on page 32. The site for the non-Meyerland trio will be the Rice Media Center; those three will be screened on the same day, Friday, April 29, at 11 a.m., 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., respectively.
Tickets for individual screenings are $6, and will be available beginning one hour prior to showtime at the Meyerland (or Rice, for its screenings) box office. The only exception is the opening night ticket, which costs $10 and includes a reception at the Wyndham Warwick Hotel following the film.
Special passes include a Film Buff Pass, which is priced at $60 and is good for 11 admissions, excluding opening night; a VIP Film Buff Pass, which is priced at $100 and is good for admission to all festival films, including opening night; a Gold Pass, priced at $200, which adds admission to the Grand Awards Gala; and a Platinum Pass, priced at $500, which covers all films, the Grand Awards Gala and all seminars. An individual ticket to the Grand Awards Gala, to be held April 29, is $100; tickets to the three April 29 film seminars are $40 apiece, or $100 for all three. Passes are available at Ticketmaster, 629-3700. For extra information, call the WorldFest offices at 965-9955.
